Origin and distribution
Renetta Canada is the variety of apple with the longest history. Grown in Europe since 1600, it was introduced into the Val di Non two centuries later, bringing with it a delicious heritage of flavour. It is the apple variety with the most sophisticated flavour and a favourite with connoisseurs. The most traditional of mountain fruit-growing techniques are needed to cultivate Renetta apples, which is why the variety is so suited to this small valley in the heart of the Italian Alps.
