Mi piaci di più

Thanks to the experience, commitment and passion of its members, the Melinda Consortium is able to produce, select, package and bring the apples of more than 5,000 small fruit growers in Trentino to the market. During the months of September and October the freshest Galas are picked, followed by the 3 PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) varieties – the Renetta Canada, rich in antioxidants, the beautiful and unique Red Delicious and the unmistakably crunchy Golden Delicious – and finally, when the highest peaks of the surrounding mountains are already capped by the first snowfall, the sweet Fuji. Five varieties for five different flavours and occasions, and remember: 5 is also the number of daily portions of fruit and vegetables recommended for your well-being. Every moment can be a Melinda moment!

Melinda apples grow under sunny mountain skies of Val di Non and Val di Sole in Trentino, in harmony with nature’s rhythms. This creates the unique taste that has always set Melinda apart, and which resulted in the awarding, in 2003, of the European Union’s "Protected Designation of Origin" recognition for the Val di Non apple; the first Italian apple to boast this title. This prestigious endorsement is also laden with responsibility because it is the recognition of the work of our people, of their experience and of the uniqueness of our environment: valuable assets which it is our duty to preserve intact, for our families and for the millions of people which choose Melinda, the PDO apple from the Val di Non, over every other apple.

Every year, the Melinda Consortium produces approximately 60% of the total production in Trentino, which on average represents 10% of the national total, and 5% of the total European production. The PDO apples from the Val di Non are produced in a restricted area, which is situated at an altitude of 450-900 metres above sea level in the North West of Trentino, characterised by climatic and geological conditions which make it one of the most suitable areas in the world for apple production.

That’s why the Val di Non apple is not only healthy and attractive, but also – and above all – very tasty!

And just to please you even more, Melinda has recently launched new products for those who prefer to consume Melinda apples with a different "peel" than the original ones: the Melinda Mousse, Snack, Barretta, Vinegar and Fresh… so you can always have Melinda close at hand.

So, "buon appetito" to all those who eat Melinda apples and can say "Melinda, mi piaci di più!"
